People never care when I watch anime in public, but it might also be that I simply don't see them. In Paris at least, I think, I'm not so sure about Berlin.

I already have the feeling that the characters changed a lot, especially Talho (although I suppose that her role is going to be much more minor in the last part of the show). On the one hand, I am glad that I can marathon this series because the urge of wanting to know what happens next is quite strong, on the other hand, I feel that slowly watching the show might have made it much more memorable for me and would have been a complete different experience.

@Sasa: it must be nice to be able to watch anime on your way to work (I took my laptop on the train once, which allowed me to finish Denno Coil...much to the bemusement of other passengers!). The scenes where Renton gets, well, practically bullied by the kids is as KT pointed out a bit much but after that the character development shifts up a gear. I'm currently five eps from the end and Renton (as well as Eureka) is a very different person now. It's great when you follow characters for so long and watch them grow up before your eyes.

I should be finishing this in the next few weeks...depending on when the review discs are made available. I can't wait to see where the journey takes them all.

So, here I am again!

Wow, KT Tore surely blogged a lot about the show - interestingly, it's one of these blogs that look really good to me now, but completely slipped under my radar. Thanks for pointing it out!

Now that I have continued watching until episode 22, it's a weird feeling to look back at these first episodes in which my biggest concern was the unfriendliness of the Gekko-State people against Renton. I didn't really consider them filler because I wanted to know more about the people there, but it surely was painful to see Renton being harassed like that. Sure, sure, that's how the world goes, but is that really necessary?

Since I'm watching around 3-4 episodes per day on my way to work, maybe we'll even watch the end at the same time? Heh.

If you were able to get through these episodes without cringing too much then I believe you're set for the series. I found episodes 3-8 to be easily the weakest of the series. After that, things really pick up and tend to get better and better as the series goes on. Aside from a few more filler-ish episodes that find their way into the series later on, I really found Eureka Seven to be quite excellent.
