All of you, imagine your levels of appreciation double if you're intimate with the references this show lovingly made to other wonderful shows.

Eureka SeveN is the rare anime that not only is enriched by the homages it made to great shows, it actually significantly increased my appreciation for the referenced shows. This is incredible. This is how to remember love.

@Karura: Talho is one of my favourite characters too - I guess strong female characters who are 1. older than high school age an 2. not playing to the moe fanboys are relatively rare. Her relationship with Holland was well done from start to finish.

@IKnight: cheers for clearing that up!

@Sasa: good to see you enjoyed it! One of the upsides of watching the show over such a long period is that the deceptive seriousness and darker aspects weren't too overwhelming. Some scenes were really quite shocking, even for me - something I never expected from a 'cool' mecha show. Interesting theory on the ending though - to be honest I'm not sure I understood it myself!

@Ryan A: Anemone's character was built up very well I think. At first I thought she was just nuts, but it was great to get into her head and have her personality explained.

Wow, I didn't know so many of you have watched Eureka 7 recently too. I actually just finished the last episode one hour ago and am actually glad that it's over.

Surely, it was indeed a great series and I loved how it turned out to be the complex series with strong background that I expected, despite its many weaknesses. What I did not expect, however, was that watching E7 was somewhat painful despite its supposedly childish premise. I think I ended up taking the story very serious and became sucked into the drama and the emoness of the characters.

My favourite character? Talho as well, although I liked her nearly from the beginning.

About the end: I always somehow had the impression that the image both of them at the lake is some kind of illusionary image - and they have 'died' like Renton's father and sister have died in the process of saving the world.

Yes, if my memory serves me correctly somewhere in the epilogue it shows them camping next to a lake, or something.

I just finished Eureka 7 over the weekend; overall I enjoyed the series but the later episodes introduced more themes than they could possibly do justice to (I felt the same about Wolf's Rain, much as I loved the series). I'd say not the best series out there, but one of the coolest ;)- and to my surprise, Talho became my favourite character by the end; I wish we could have seen her and Holland in the 'one year later' epilogue.

@IKnight: as broken and unconventional as their relationship was, I was always hoping Anemone and Dominic would resolve their problems and find happiness. To that end, ep 48 was fantastic on so many levels. Apparently one of the final scenes shows them sitting together by a lake somewhere...?

@lelangir: I'm not sure when I'll find enough time to watch all fifty episodes but I'd like to revisit it again sometime. You're right about the ref board scene though - I was literally on the edge of my seat for that scene, seriously.

@usagijen: I'm sure you've read this elsewhere, but E7 is easily on of the top five of new shows in recent years. The problem is, as much as time flies when you're watching it there's a lot of time involved! I hope you find opportunity to check it out though. ^_^

*looks at Eureka 7 in pile of backlogs* Its priority in my to-watch-list goes up every time I see good reviews of it. The next (and most difficult) thing to do is to allot some time for it. The tons of great shows really make you wish you had the ability to freeze time =/

Eureka 7 is awesome. I think I've rewatched it several times, and it doesn't get old. You two may your episode 48 Dominic-Anemone obsession while I have my [besides Stoner being just flat out cool (the dissident writer: the righteous blogger)] own liking for the "mini-arc" where Dominic talks to Axel. Also, the episode where he sends the new ref board to Renton was epic.

For some reason, the Dominic-Anemone relationship went down well with me, too - I recall rewatching the forty-eighth episode several times, the finale only once. Dominic and Anemone are actually pretty awesome characters, underneath their respective layers of military discipline and insanity.
