Hello, 9Rules!
I don’t like to blow my own trumpet and make a filler post about making posts but this month saw an historic moment in my blogging career. As of September 2008, this blog is a member of the 9Rules network.
Invading the Internet, one site at a time: I promise I won’t let this go to my head
After hearing about the ninth round of 9Rules submissions over at Sea Slugs, I figured “What the hey?” and filled in the submission form. To my surprise (no, really) I was one of those who were accepted for membership. In all honesty I don’t want this to change the way I blog but I’m looking forward to getting to know other fellow members and their blogs; it’s great to think that my posts may reach a wider audience too.
I also noticed there were some other anime bloggers who were successful in their submissions so to Itsumo, the Scrumtious team, otou-san and to anyone else who I’ve rudely left out (I just haven’t noticed your blog…YET), congratulations! It’s a great feeling to think that I’m up there in such good company. And to you 9rules readers who had never heard of this site before, I hope my posts will be fun and interesting to read, and worthy of The Leaf.
I can see the list of items on my blogroll/feedreader mushrooming from now on though…

I only just this minute found out what 9Rules is (which probably means I have to hand in my geek badge at the entrance), but congratulations anyway!
I have to confess it took a few attempts at reading that entry, as I kept admiring the rather cool Zetsubou Sensei image instead.

Congrats on the 9rules acceptance!! You totally deserve it, Martin! If there’s someone who’s supposed to be utterly surprised on the 9rules acceptance, it should rather be me XD
Now I’m sort-of pressuring myself to stick only to writing ‘quality posts’, whatever that is o.o;

Thanks for your kind words everyone! It makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside…and mindful that I need to, y’know, pull my finger out and post more stuff.
@Hanners: I didn’t know much about 9Rules until recently either, but in recent months they’ve had something of a site overhaul and revision of their goals and acceptance criteria - I like their style and I’m glad to be part of the gang.
@usagijen: congrats again to you too! I look forward to more quality posts from you! No pressure or anything though.
@Catherine: thanks again! I’d recommend you try to apply too, but you might have to wait until your blog is old enough to qualify - some blogs were rejected this time around purely because they haven’t been online for more than the minimum time. That said, the next round isn’t until november so there’s time to get the required six months of regular posting in!
