Yes, yes, give Windy Tales a try! It’s an episodic anime, so there were some which were absolutely brilliant and other episodes that didn’t do all that much for me, but it’s definitely worth a look. It made me want to take pictures of the sky. XD

So yeah, actually LK’s taste has become pretty good over the years, it’s true. Too bad for me, it used to be so enjoyable to lovingly torture him because of his bad anime taste! Ahaha.

@Wildcard: I’d recommend you check it out if you get the time. It’s certainly not memorable but it’s fun and there’s a good story in there too.

@Crusader: I liked the ending too. I also enjoyed the Engrish, which spanned the full spectrum from respectable to laughable!

@Emo_Wandering_Bear: the animation quality is pretty poor, although it’s not bad in the skating scenes themselves. Cheers for your comment on the header - I’m currently reading another one of Asano’s novels, Solanin. It’s fantastic.

@Sasa: LK’s taste isn’t all bad! He loves DMC and Aria, which I can totally agree with. I can see myself liking Windy Tales too actually…cats, photography and slice-of-life? I’m interested already!

Oh my goodness, what has happened to you. I think the world should be warned about Lolikit’s bad anime taste, or otherwise there will be more postings like “OMG I have watched Interlude” or “Why did I pick up something like Kannaduki no Miko in the first place?” *hrr hrr*

By the way, I just finished Windy Tales recently. That’s one (of actually many things) that lolikitsune likes and that I find very precious too.

I want to see the Nijigahara Holograph header too! *refreshes*

I watched this a long time ago, it was good and enjoyable even if it was not altogether EPIC. Ending was surprising to say the least and rather unexpected for me at least.

Good to know that in the event of Canadian invasion all I need to do is arm Liberty Prime with tomato nukes for the liberation of Alaska.

I watched the first episode of this a few years back and completely forgot about it.

Until now, feels kind of strange even hearing about it again - but I am intrigued after reading your post: may give it another look sometime.

@Lolikit: it would’ve been great to see that happen, but the premise had kinda written itself into a corner in that sense. There wasn’t any option in terms of resolving the romance subplot, for shame.

@Ghostlighting: it’s not what I’d call an A-list title, but if you have a bit of spare time for some enjoyable fluffy whimsy, go for it!

@Mechafetish: see above. Start pressuring our esteemed comrade into ice-dancing and epic tomato consumption!

@Peter S: I wish I knew how they come up with names like this, although the name Justin Long and casting a guy called Roger Moore as James Bond are some amusing real-life examples! As far as I know this is still unlicenced for video, and the way things are now will probably stay that way.

@Chris: absolutely. The characterisation and the ‘heart’ you mention make up for the mediocre animation. Oh yeah, I found it to be really funny too.

I too love these types of anime, the beauty of these shojo types series is that they are all about heart. So, as long you have a interesting and likable main character with some strengths and weaknesses we all can understand, we the viewers can easily identify with the main character's struggles and successes. I'm a fan of this genre not for the animation quality, I'm a fan because once I make a connection with the main character I what her to succeed at life, love, and so forth.
